Clinicians have the option to have their letters either dictated/transcribed via Transcription Services or generate an EMR Clinician Letter. The differences between the two options:
- Dictated/Transcribed Letters
- Goes to GP
- Can be sent to the patients and other multiple recipients as instructed/required by the clinician
- Letters clearly state who the letter has been sent to
2. EMR Clinician Letters
- Sent via PulseNet
- Only sends to GP if GP is registered to PulseNet, it does not matter if the GP details are in iPM, if they are not also registered to PulseNet the letter cannot be sent and will just be a document in the EMR.
- Cannot send to patient or other intended recipients
- No way for the clinician to identify if a letter has been sent to the GP or not via the front of EMR.
