Biography

Dr Rekha Ganeshalingam is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon who treats a broad range of bone and joint conditions in children and adults. She works as a consultant in the paediatric orthopaedic service at Western Health, and also holds a public appointment at University Hospital Geelong and an honorary surgeon role at the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne.

Dr Ganeshalingam studied medicine at the University of Auckland, graduating in 2008, and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. She completed a paediatric orthopaedic fellowship at University Hospital Geelong and a limb reconstruction fellowship at the Royal Children’s Hospital, with further training at Starship Children’s Hospital in Auckland and a year-long observership at SickKids Hospital in Toronto.

She chairs the Victorian Paediatric Orthopaedic Network, mentors junior doctors and medical students, contributes to clinical practice guidelines and has published research in international journals.
