Length: 6 months
Stipend: $110,000 AUD per annum, with potential for on-call and after-hours assisting

Sites: Western (Footscray), Sunshine, Joan Kirner and Williamstown hospitals

Specialist training for an orthopaedic surgeon wishing to subspecialise in foot and ankle surgery. Exposure includes:

  • Foot and ankle trauma, including complex trauma
  • Total ankle arthroplasty
  • Deformity correction
  • Forefoot correction
  • Arthroscopy and ligament reconstruction

There is opportunity to run independent trauma operating sessions and to join the consultant on-call roster for adult and paediatric trauma, after appropriate supervision and sign-off. Applicants are expected to have completed general orthopaedic training and, ideally, a prior foot and ankle fellowship. Fellows contribute a minimum of one research publication during the term.
