Biography
Mr William Pianta is an orthopaedic surgeon who treats hip, knee and shoulder conditions and is a consultant in the Hip and Knee unit at Western Health. He completed his orthopaedic training in Victoria and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Australian Orthopaedic Association.
After training he completed a trauma fellowship at Western Health, a hip and knee replacement fellowship in Canada, and further subspecialty training in shoulder surgery in the USA and Europe. His practice includes primary and revision hip and knee replacement, direct anterior approach hip replacement, and partial and total knee replacement using computer navigation and robotic technology. He also performs ACL reconstruction, shoulder arthroscopy, rotator cuff repair and stabilisation, and fracture care.
