Biography
Libby Spiers is the Orthopaedic Research Coordinator in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Western Health, Footscray Hospital, where she oversees research governance for the orthopaedic research team. She is the contact for the department’s collaborative projects with Victoria University, including the Waitlist Project on patients awaiting orthopaedic care.
She is also affiliated with the Centre for Health, Exercise and Sports Medicine at the University of Melbourne and has worked on clinical trials in hip and knee conditions. She has co-authored Western Health studies on total hip arthroplasty approaches, suture-tape augmented ACL reconstruction (the STACLR trial) and telehealth follow-up after joint replacement.
