Biography

Mr Matthan Mammen is an orthopaedic surgeon specialising in the hand, wrist and elbow. He holds public appointments at Western Health and the Northern Hospital. He holds the MBBS and MS degrees and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Australian Orthopaedic Association.

He was an orthopaedic trauma fellow at The Alfred from 2010 to 2013, where he was lead trauma fellow managing complex trauma from across Victoria. He was a trauma fellow at Western Health in 2015 and also completed fellowship training in upper limb trauma and complex hand and wrist conditions. His work covers trauma care, wrist and elbow arthroscopy and joint replacement, with a particular interest in complex injuries and degenerative conditions of the elbow and wrist.

Mr Mammen teaches medical and allied health staff and has published in peer-reviewed journals.
