Biography

Mr Raghavan Unni is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon in the Hip and Knee unit at Western Health, where he has served as Director of Trainees, and a co-supervisor of the Western Health Advanced Arthroplasty Fellowship.

He holds the MBBS and DipNB and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Australian Orthopaedic Association. He completed a fellowship in trauma and arthroplasty at the Royal Adelaide Hospital before moving to Melbourne in 2000, and has more than 20 years of orthopaedic experience.

His work focuses on adult lower limb surgery, including primary and revision hip and knee replacement, robotic knee surgery and ACL reconstruction. He tutors University of Melbourne students through Western and Northern Health, has been Director of Research for Victorian orthopaedic trainees, and is an assessor for the Victorian Audit of Surgical Mortality. He speaks Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam.
